Where to stay?

Renowned architect Li Hua, while respecting the outer appearance of the Hakka Tulou to the fullest extent, embarked upon a modern renovation that not only pays Tulou to its original charm but also caters to the quality demands of contemporary living. Nestled along the upstream of the river within the Taxia village, the retreat comprises three square-shaped Tulou buildings: an ancestral residence during the late Qing dynasty, a small individual Tulou building from the Republican era, and a three-story Republican-style teal brick building. These five buildings bear the names of Daosun Building, Wenxuan Building, Yaodong Building, Heyuan Building, and Huiyuan Building. Among them, Daosun Building boasts the most ancient history, spanning an impressive 180 years to this day.

Tulou Retreat offers a total of 26 guest rooms, each maintaining the traditional, understated, and elegant style that epitomizes the essence of Tsingpu accommodations. As you open the windows, you are greeted by the invigorating air, accompanied by swirling mists enveloping the verdant mountains.
